The first major of 2012 is underway. The Byrd Match Play Championship bracket is set. We have our largest field in recent history with 64 players competing in this season's championship. We would like to wish everyone the best of luck and good play.

We would like to welcome our newest participant to the tournament ranks!
The golf committee has approved our Superintendent Scott Cornwell for participation in our club events. Scott, an avid golfer and exceptional player, will now be eligible to play in club events just as our members are. We would just like to clarify a few points for those that may have concerns about this. Scott will not be setting up the course on tournament days where he will be participating and will be paying entry fees just as other members do to enter club events. Scott does carry an official USGA handicap and posts his scores regularly.
We would like to wish Scott the best of luck playing this year, and if anyone should need a partner for the Two-Man or Member-Members…I’m sure Scott will be looking for a partner.

Scotty’s Revenge
Saturday, March 17th
Tee Time: 10:00am shotgun start
Format: Individual Net Stroke Play, men’s and ladies’ divisions,
Entry Fee: $15 per player
There comes a time every year that our Superintendent, Scott Cornwell, reaches the boiling point. There’s only so much abuse a man can take when folks are talking about his pride and joy. “The rough’s too long… These greens are just too fast… Who cut these pins?” So, for one day each spring, Scott just has to get even. Scotty’s Revenge is just that, an extremely challenging (however devilishly fun) golf tournament where the course is set up by Scott’s own hand. I wouldn’t expect too many straight putts out there; in fact you might want to get used to putting because you’ll be doing a lot of it. All I can say is GOOD LUCK, and after the event you might want to think again about giving Scott grief about the course. NAH, WHAT FUN WOULD THAT BE!!!! HAVE FUN!!!
